Transgender Day of Rememberance

Jen Alexander. a Gender Identity Practitioner (MAP) wanted to let you know about an event at St John the Baptist’s Church (Timberhill, Norwich, NR1 3LA) on Tuesday 20th November at 7pm to observe the international Transgender Day of Remembrance.

The event will include a simple silence with short prayer when people will be invited to light candles; there will also be poetry, music and short talks – Some young people who attend Evolve plan to read their own writing. Attendees will be invited to make donations to Evolve (a volunteer-led project).

Jen shall also be presenting a short piece of performance – casting call attached – inspired by the OUT140 play of ‘coming out stories’ I directed at Stage Two as part of Norwich Pride this summer (produced by Shelly Telly).

Do join Jen if you can and please share this info with anyone you think may be interested. If you would like to become more involved in this event please click on this link.

For those who would prefer to observe the day in less religious premises there should be candle-lit vigils happening at UEA (5pm) and outside the Forum (6pm).  Details to follow.
