Oasis Trip to Mid Norfolk Railway – Saturday 3rd August
On Saturday 3rd August is the start of the Mid Norfolk Railway 1940’s “Railway at War” weekend. The railway runs from Dereham to Wymondham Abbey. There will be lots of attraction at all the stations.
The cost for a rover ticket (valid all day) is between £17 and £15 depending on concessions. If you’re a member of MNR it’s even cheaper.
The suggested day is as follows
Arrive around 10am – there is plenty of free parking in Dereham, with a large car park about 5 minutes from the station.
After a look round at some of the exhibitions, take the 11.10am train to Wymondham Abbey Holt. There will be further attractions (apart from us) at the station including a beer tent, tea shop and vintage bits and pieces (not including us!)
Here we have a choice, weather dependant:
- Bring a pack lunch to eat in the grounds of Wymondham Abbey
- Have some refreshments at the pop-up café.
- Do you own thing.
Plan to catch the 2pm or 3.20pm train from Wymondham station possibly stopping at Yaxham station for a cup of tea, slice of cake, and look at the miniature railway display before returning to Dereham.
Of course as Oasis ladies, who are out and proud, you are welcome to plan you own day.
