Dear ladies, partners, friends and allies,
They do say that the older you get the quicker time passes. These last few weeks have flown by and nearly caught me out. I almost missed the deadline to publicise our next Oasis meeting!
It will from 6.30pm onwards on Saturday, 18th September.
Risking upsetting some members again, the same rules will apply. Covid has not gone away and, as we head into winter, is likely to increase as flu does every year.
The government have decided (in England at least) not to introduce covid passports for entry to events. It is, therefore, inappropriate for me to ask for evidence of two covid vaccinations and a negative lateral flow test. However, I am sure I can rely on your social conscience to protect other Oasis members.
My infallible weather app (!) tells me it will be dry and mild on Saturday and so I hope to be able to ventilate the hall as before.
We were quite ‘thin on the ground’ in August but, as I have already commented, the presence of two new ladies made it worthwhile. Because of the unpredictability of numbers, I will keep it low key again. There will not be a ‘theme’.
Self-catering picnic style worked well and so we will do the same for this meeting. Please remember to bring plates, cutlery, mugs and glasses so that no washing up is required. Tea, coffee, wine and soft drinks will be provided.
Depending on numbers and how the pandemic progresses into the winter I will review the catering arrangements for October.
There will be a charge of £5 for this meeting to cover the cost of the hall.
I hope to see more of you at St George’s Hall this month. Please complete the response box below.
Love and best wishes,
