Saturday 21st March – Irish night

We have just celebrated St Patrick’s Day (17th) so what better time is there to have a party!

Did you know that the real St Patrick wasn’t Irish, he was born in Britain around AD 390.  Also your odds of finding a four-leaf clover are about 1 in 10,000, and the colour of St. Patrick’s Day was originally blue.

Saturday 18th April – Britannia night

Rule Britannia, Britannia ruled the waves.  Get your flag out and give it a wave. Although St George’s Day is on 23rd April, there will be a competition for the best interpretation of this day.

I know you will decide on what to wear, but here are some suggestions: a blue dress, a red rose, a St Georges flag, a Jerusalem recital or all of them.  Wow the judges for England!

The admission is £8 and Vicky will be doing the food.

Saturday 16th May – Rock ‘n’ Roll night

Rock and roll developed in the early 1950s from a kind of music called rhythm and blues performed by black singers and musicians. At first, this music was popular only with African-Americans. In the later 1950s and in the 1960s, rock and roll became popular across the United States and in Europe.  Well that the history!

Get your sewing machines out and run up your poodle skirts. Yet another chance to dress up in your 50’s outfit and win a prize.

This is a ladies food night where we ask you to bring in food (savoury or sweet).  Admission is £5 per person.
