Staff and volunteers of MindLine Somerset & MindLine Bristol, established providers of mental health helplines, operate a specific Transgender/Non-binary helpline for the whole of the UK, in addition to their existing Mindline services.

The service operates on Mondays and Fridays of each week from 8pm until midnight by Trans+ volunteers and allies. MindLine Trans+ offers emotional support to people who are Trans+, A Gender, Gender Fluid and Non-binary and anyone wanting to talk about their gender identity. The helpline is also there to offer support and information to family and friends

The aim of GIRES to inform a wider public of the issues surrounding gender identity and transsexualism. It is also a resource for gender variant people and their families, the medical and other professionals that provide their care, Health Authorities, Members of Parliament and other policy makers.


Mermaids is a support group originally formed in 1995 by a group of parents who were brought together as a result of their children’s longstanding Gender Identity Issues. We offer information, support, friendship and shared experiences.  We give support for individual young people, with or without support from their families, whether they are out or not We will try, where possible, to help their families understand and accept their child’s gender identity issue. We will also offer our help to family members, professionals and others who are worried about a child or young person. We will offer our support via telephone, email and snail mail.


Gendys Network for those who encounter gender problems, personally or as family  members, lovers or friends and for those who provide care.


The Gender Trust the largest Registered Charity in a position to help adults throughout the United Kingdom who are Transsexual, Gender Dysphoric, Transgender, or those who’s lives are affected by gender identity issues.


Northern Concord is a social and self help group for Cross-dressers, Transvestites, Transsexuals and their wives, husbands or partners. The Group is based in Manchester, England and has worked for the TG community successfully for over 22 years


Beaumont Society is the largest and longest established transgendered support group in the UK, and have developed a support network which has been at the forefront of the transgender, transvestite , transsexual and crossdressing community since 1966


New Road Parents Group are a group of parents in South Birmingham and Worcestershire whose children have ‘come out’ to us as gay, lesbian, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT).

New Road Parents Support is based in Bromsgrove, North Worcestershire, and is aptly named as parents travel down a new road in life when their children come out. We are a voluntary group and meet in a safe confidential meeting place.
