🎃Let me introduce myself; my name is Peter, Peter Pumpkin’ead. Once upon a time, a nice farmer in deepest Norfolk, carefully sowed the seeds of my existence on a radiant spring morning, once the frosts had passed. 🎃My lovely farmer nurtured me as I grew big, fat, round and orange, as throughout the ever-changing English summer, they provided me with the utmost care and attention, tending to my every need as I flourished. 🎃Then one day as the nights started to draw in, and it was time to make my journey to the Aldi supermarket in Diss.🎃

🎃To my delight I was purchased by a beautiful lady, who took me home and started my magical transformation by creating my eyes, my nose and my cheeky toothy grin …………. and I was truly born as Peter Pumpkin’ead🎃.
🎃Later that day on Saturday 21st October 2023, my creator Tina and her wonderful friend Barbara took me to Oasis, where I had heard that magical transformations take place. 🎃It was Halloween time and we were going to celebrate together; such fun! During a fabulous evening I was able to meet so many friends, old and new. 🎃We welcomed Katie N to her first meeting, Jane, Billie and Nicole and Janet to their second and welcomed back old friends Stephanie and Michelle. 🎃Thank you to one and all for being part of Oasis, I loved meeting each and everyone of you🎃.
🎃Tina, Barbara, Petra and Billie decorated our room so it was suitably Halloweenie and Dee produced a deliciously spooky atmospheric lighting.🎃 Our wonderful duo of chiefs produced us a delicious meal of Beef chilli with rice, nachos, sour cream and salsa dips; with a tasty vegetarian option. 🎃Pudding was a tasty homemade raspberry Trifle and chocolate Brownie with cream🎃.
🎃Who could want more? 🎃There was more; we had a crazy quiz won by Serena’s Superwomen, a raffle with many winners and an 🍎apple bobbing 🍎competition, in the Olympic sized washing up bowl, won by Theresa🎃. ⭐⭐Our raffle raised £51 for MacMillan Cancer Research, thank you to all our contributors⭐⭐.
🎃As the seconds turned into minutes and hours, the Witching hour arrived and it was time to disappear into the night; with a wave of her wand (and the hard work of many), Lilly transformed the room back to normal. 🎃The chairs and tables were put away, the washing up washed up and the floors were swept as if by the brooms in Fantasia. 🎃Thank you to all the Oasis fairies who supplied the clearing-up magic🎃.
🎃With a little tear in my eye, it was time to say goodbye, bye bye Oasis, bye bye Peter Pumpkin’ead you all said; bye bye Tina I said, bye bye Peter Pumpkin’ead said Tina, and she kissed my forehead, then my little light faded away….🎃🧡💛💚💙💜💓
🎃Lilly took me home, and prepared me for the great Pumpkin Patch in the sky. She gently placed me with my vegetable friends amongst the compost and I prepared myself for my next journey, when I will nourish the earth, and the cycle of life begins again🎃.
🎃Until we meet again, I leave you with the Tale Of Peter Pumpkin’ead inspired by Andy Partridge of XTC🎃.
Love
Lilly

Once upon a time, in Norfolk’s embrace so wide,
A farmer’s gentle hand with me did confide,
He sowed my seeds, on a spring morning bright,
When frost and chill had taken their flight.
I flourished round and plump, orange, so grand,
In the farmer’s care, I thrived on that land,
Through England’s ever-changing summer so fair,
With tender love, he nurtured me there.
As nights grew long, autumn’s whisper in the air,
The time had come for a journey to bear,
To Aldi’s bustling aisles in charming Diss,
I embarked on a quest of shopping bliss.
Delightful was the lady who chose to be my guide,
With skilful hands, she couldn’t hide her pride,
She crafted my eyes, my nose, and cheeky grin,
I was reborn as Peter Pumpkin’ead from within.
On a Saturday eve, in the year 2023,
My creator, Tina, set me free,
To Oasis we went, where magic flowed,
In the Halloween spirit, our hearts glowed.
New faces and old, friends near and far,
Came together beneath the evening star,
Katie’s first visit, a warm welcome to share,
Laughter filled the air, like a breath of fresh air.
Tina and Barbara, the room they adorned,
With Halloween flair, the atmosphere adorned,
Dee’s lighting cast an eerie spell,
Creating a night that promised well.
Beef chili, rice, nachos, and dips to savour,
Vegetarian options for flavour to savour,
Raspberry trifle, brownie with cream so sweet,
A feast for the senses, a delightful treat.
A quiz that was crazy, Serena’s team took the crown,
Raffle prizes won, cheers all around,
In apple bobbing, Theresa was the queen,
As the Witching hour neared, the scene unseen.
With a wave of a wand and hard work by all,
Lilly transformed the room, from wall to wall,
Chairs stored away, the dishes put to rest,
Oasis’s enchantment passed the test.
With a tear in my eye, goodbyes were shared,
To Oasis, to Peter Pumpkinhead, they declared,
“Farewell, Tina,” I said, a quiet goodbye,
And with that, my little light began to die.
Lilly took me home, with a solemn grace,
Prepared me for my celestial resting place,
With the other vegetables on the compost I lay,
Ready to nourish the earth in my own way.
The cycle of life, a journey so profound,
In the great pumpkin patch in the sky, I found,
A new beginning, as nature’s grace unfurled,
I returned to the earth, part of the greater world.
