During the evening of Saturday 17th August 2024 Oasis was lost for words, instead mime led the way. 
Now I will attempt to describe the meeting using the medium of mime 
…. let me see …. 625 words, first word …………. The? Yes that’s right, second word …………….
Basis? Basis! What? No! ……. this just isn’t going to work! So, instead how about a song, vaguely to the tune of ‘Cabaret’?
Life is a charade, old chum,
Come on in, grab a card, it’s time to play,
Where the clues come alive, and words slip away!

In this game of delight, it’s charades on parade!

As the clock ticks away, we’re caught in the craze,

In this cabaret of fun, we’re all in the cast,
From the first to the last, this night’s gonna last!

A big thank you to everyone who embraced the spirit of the evening, especially to ace charades enthusiast Abbigail who’s ability to explain the rules won the day. Thank you to our wonderful players, particularly Jane and Jane (Jane2), Janet and Nicole. To Georgina, who may only have one mime but it is a very good one, and to Joanna for simply being Joanna. A very big Oasis welcome to Janet, who attended her first meeting. Finally thank you to all of you who humoured me during my icebreaker opening, which went down like a proverbial Titanic. Oh hum, she who dares wins Rodders.
