Hi Everybody, it’s time to update your diary as we head toward Christmas (yes I’ve said it, Christmas!!). Pens ready, diaries ready? Here goes; we’re going to be busy and don’t forget to look out for the invitations in your inbox, you don’t want to miss out. ***Please note that there has been a change to the dates previously advertise for our visits to Bayfield and Houghton Hall***.

John Lewis Norwich Store Visit. Please note this is a change of date. Originally scheduled for Thursday 12th September, this visit will now take place on Thursday 24th October in The Personal Styling Suit from 5:00 to 7:30 pm. The theme will be Autumn and Winter styles, and you will be invited to bring your favourite item from home, and the stylist will find items to match, so you will be à la mode as the nights draw in.

Oasis Meetings. As usual our meetings will take place on 3rd Saturday of each month, that is 21st September, 19th October and 16th November. But, and there is always a but, please note that this year’s December meeting will take place a week earlier on the 2nd Saturday, i.e. 14th December. Please don’t turn up on the wrong day!

Bayfield Sculpture Trail. Please note this is a change of date ***On Friday 27th September ***, Oasis will return to the fabulous Bayfield Hall to once again explore the stunning sculpture trail. We had a wonderful Autumn day out in 2023 and can’t wait to go back, not least for the cosy little café, and we love a café. Once again, Theresa will be your leader and sending out invites accordingly

Oasis Walking Group. Sunday 29th September will see the first outing of the new Oasis Walking Group, when we meet in Eaton Park in Norwich at 11:00 am. Led by Rhian we will perambulate 4.5 km through the park and around the grounds of the UEA. Come and enjoy spending time with friends, whilst having some gentile exercise, with the reward of a hot cuppa at the finish. We will send out an invitation very soon.

Houghton Hall Sculpture Park. Please note this is a change of date. On ***Thursday 10th October***, Theresa will organise a trip to the stunning Houghton Hall nr King’s Lynn (PE31 6TY). There is much to see and do at this beautiful location including stretching your legs around the sculpture park, Theresa will be sending out an invitation with all the details very soon.

Neatishead Radar Museum. On Friday 1st November Theresa will organise a trip to the amazing Neatishead Radar Museum near Horning and Wroxham, to the north of Norwich (NR12 8YB). This is a new trip for Oasis and an absolute must see.

TDoR Short Film Festival. Wednesday 20th November marks the annual Transgender Day Of Remembrance, a day that honours the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. To commemorate this day and to celebrate the lives of Trans and Non Binary Folk, Oasis will be holding a short film festival at The Forum in Norwich from 3:00 – 9:30 pm. Tickets will be £7.50 and there is more information on our Short Film Festival webpage

Whitwell & Reepham Railway Christmas Fair. On Sunday 24th November Get into the festive spirit at the W&R annual Christmas Craft Fair! What to Expect: 🎁 Unique crafts from talented local producers 🍽️ Delicious food and drink 🛍️ Perfect gifts for your loved ones Discover a treasure trove of handmade items. Theresa will be sending out an invitation with all the details very soon.

Oasis Christmas Dinner. Tuesday 10th December. Can you believe it? It’s time to think about sitting down together and celebrating Christmas. After a wonderful meal and evening last year, we will be returning to The Old Feathers, Loddon Rd, Norwich NR14 7QB on Tuesday 10th December. More details will follow including prices and menu options. Look out for the email and have your cash ready to pay your deposit. Don’t miss out on a fab evening.
