On Saturday 21st February 2026, Oasis members were lured across the rolling hills of Norfolk to the grand Oasis Mansion by the unmistakable perfume of soup. And oh yes, there was oodles of the stuff. Armed with bowls of heroic proportion, our Oasisers dined in splendid style, steam rising and laughter spilling into every corner of the room. We were delighted Penny Clare to our Oasis family.

At the heart of every Oasis gathering is the meal we share. To eat together is to be family; and believe me when I say it, we truly are. With our Oasisers gathered close, we savoured four splendid soups this month. Rhian brought forth a mulligatawny both fragrant and daring, flanked by loyal companions: tomato, leek and potato, and a cauliflower with Stilton that melted like a whispered secret. Baguettes were torn, naan bread passed hand to hand, and no bowl left lonely for long.
Pudding followed, because at Oasis it always does. Lilly’s bright fruit salad sparkled alongside a decadent strawberry cheesecake. And for our birthday girl Janet, a celebratory flourish: Christmas Pud, richly covered in the elixir life that is custard.
Feeling you’ve missed out? Fear not. Pop Saturday 21st March in your diaries, when Rhian and Lilly invite you to a curry night certain to warm both heart and soul.

We were delighted to welcome the amazing artist, archivist (please see above) and illustrator Rebecca Osbourne. Rebecca is currently working toward a MA at Norwich University of the Arts, including a project where Rebecca would like to feature Oasis; with input from you, our membership.

Rebecca is creating a series of embossed illustrations of vessels populated with words that represent an organisation or person. Surrounding in the border are words describing what gives provide strength. if you’d like to contribute to Rebecca’s project, please use the reply form at the bottom of this page.
The observant amongst will notice that note the lack of Queer Joy Movement yoga. Sadly Emily was unwell and couldn’t make it. We hope to welcome QJM to Oasis later in 2026.
Oasis meetings are quietly magical things. Quizzes are quizzed, tables appear, chairs assemble, dishes vanish; all through a kind of joyful collectivism that would leave even the grandest five-year plans blinking in admiration. It happens because of you Dear Members, because of hands that help, voices that chat, and hearts that care. Special thanks to our souper soup chief Rhian, guardians of the ladle and legends in their own lunchtime.
And now, as the evening drew its gentle close, so too did another chapter of Oasis. It’s time to lower the curtain, my friends, I’ll say it clear (once again), and as ever, state my case, of which of course, I’m entirely certain: there is no place quite like this family we’ve made together.
Much Love
Lilly

Rebecca’s MA Project …. Oasis members, you are welcome to be involved with all aspects of Rebecca’s design or just provide the words. So if you have a specific type of vessel that you feel represents you or Oasis, you can choose for Rebecca to depict that. Then, Rebecca is asking for words describing the stressors that are affecting you and your community, and finally words about what offers you strength and stability.
