Wingfield Gardens

When I wrote the invite for our Oasis visit to Wingfield I was hoping for a glorious sunny day to fully enjoy walking around various open gardens in the village, well, Saturday 3rd June did turn out to be a beautiful warm sunny day, such a contrast from the recent grey and cold weather.

It was late morning when we all met at the Wingfield Barns to purchase the open garden tickets and enjoy some refreshments. Was lovely to sit and chat with Rachel & Susan, Lauren, Lilly, Amy & Sue, Lorraine, Dee, and meet a new lady Gina, all good friends together enjoying the sunshine.

After a short while we headed out into the village following a map identifying which properties had their gardens open to view and after not too long stopping at one garden where they were offering light lunches.

After a lunch break we continued to walk around the village gardens and chatted to the proud owners, was quite amazing to see how other people were managing their gardens, such diversity with some laid out to encourage wildlife, some open landscape and some pristine ornamental.

We didn’t have enough time to see all the gardens because we wanted to get back to the barns for drinks before they closed. More cakes and cream teas😁

Was a lovely day, interesting, fun and shared with some lovely people.

It was also good to support a charity event in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice and St Andrew’s church.
