What a fabulous Oasis turnout on a not so sunny 7th May at Stody Lodge Gardens, was really lovely to see everyone. Lilly, Joanna, Sarah and Laor, Serena, Andrea and friend Claudia, Katie, Beccie, Claire and Jules and friend Diane, Emma Jane, Rachel, Lorraine and and myself Theresa.
We started the visit with a picnic, assembling quite an assortment of tables, chairs and blankets, even a parasol which unfortunately took off in the breeze taking Serena’s table and wine with it.
All of us waited until the last crumb was eaten before packing up and heading for the garden entrance, on this particular day the £9.00 entry fee was collected for the National Garden Scheme with all proceeds for charity.
Once inside we all went our own way at our own pace, some wanted more refreshments, some checking out the plant sales and some of us headed off with a slow walk to the Azalea Water Gardens, there were lots of rhododendrons along the route almost in full bloom, lovely to see walls of colour.
The azaleas are such a delight to see and smell while they’re in full bloom, it is estimated there are over two thousand of the plants in the gardens and we hit just the right time of the year to see them at their best.
Lots of photos were taken capturing the colours and views so I’ve selected a few to share.
Following a good walk around the water gardens we headed back to the lodge area for refreshments, others had the same idea and we gradually all met up late in the afternoon, hot tea and cake was most welcome. As always, time caught up with us and eventually time to leave and say our goodbyes.
Not sure if everyone had enough time to walk around the whole gardens, we certainly didn’t, I think we need another visit next year to finish what we started😊

i was very sorry to have missed your wonderful day out at the garden but as usual work got in the way hopefully you may have another mid week outing that I can get to I’m desperate to meet all you girls
