Somerleyton Visit – Tiptoe Through The Snowdrops

To be honest it was more like squelching through the muddy puddles but nevertheless Somerleyton provided a delightful backdrop to a late February Oasis get together. Finding a dry day in the wettest February on record required the great skills of Mystic Theresa, and once again she came up trumps, the rain abated, the clouds duly parted on 23rd February as our Oasis convoy rolled into the Somerleyton Hall drive.

Theresa, Rachel, Rebecca, Andrea, Alex, Lilly, Jaqui and Phyliss assembled in the Orangery for a pre-walk caffeine infusion, finally after we’d run out of gossip (just who we talking about?) , we headed into the great outdoors to explore.

What did we learn? Looking for someone to take charge of the map? Jacqui is your girl! Every expedition needs a great navigator and Jaqui was ours. Bamboo Elephants don’t eat bamboo bananas. Christopher Cockerell tested the original hovercraft design in the grounds of Somerleyton. The maze was trickier and muddier than it looked but the crack Oasis team made it and made it out again before closing time. The Snowdrops had turned into Daffodils as if by magic, the seasons are very confused but it remains wonderful to explore the beautiful gardens of Somerleyton with your closest friends.

Of course the most important lesson? A day out with Oasis is both good for the Queen of Hearts and good for the soul. Why not join us next time and improve your life the Oasis way.
