Dear Oasis ladies, partners, friends and allies,

My apologies for a rather belated report of the Oasis meeting held on the 15th January. I wasn’t sure how many people would attend as January is always an iffy month and many are still concerned about covid.
However, 18 people attended and we had a tremendous buffet spread with all our ladies providing food.
It was lovely to meet and chat with our new members Eve and her wife, Sarah. I hope they will become regular members. It was also great to see Claire and Jules (and Jules’ mum, Pam) after a long break. Jules has now retired and is very happy and Claire looked amazing and very happy too. She was interviewed recently by a farming magazine which published an article about her, farming and mental health. Claire was photographed posing in front of a large agricultural machine. Watch out Petra, you are not the only magazine star! I hope, in the near future, we will be able to post the article on the website.
We held a raffle which raised £47 and held a ‘Quiz of 2021’ which showed just how quickly we forget names!
I am really pleased that the covid pandemic seems to be declining and restrictions are being lifted. I hope it will encourage more people to come to our February (and it looks as if Rachel and I will get to France for our skiing trip after all!)
The great news is that Vicky will be preparing a meal for us on 19th February but the bad news is that it will be her valedictory culinary extravaganza. After preparing meals for Oasis ladies for over 12 years she has earned the right to pass on the oven gloves. If anyone feels they would be able to step up to the plate (pun intended) I would very much like to hear from you.
Keep an eye on the website for a post to sign up to the February meeting. I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible and, in the meantime, look after yourselves and stay well.
Love and best wishes,
Serena
