May Oasis – Green, Proud – Working for the Planet.

Green Peace stands on the front line defending our natural world from destruction; challenging governments, industries and corporations to help build a greener, fairer future for everyone.
On Saturday 16th May 2026, Oasis was thrilled to welcome Mark Crutchley to our own little corner of green for an inspiring and thought-provoking afternoon.
In a fascinating and often eye-opening talk, Mark shared the incredible work of Greenpeace and explained how the organisation campaigns to transform politics, industry and society in the fight against climate change and environmental destruction.
Far from simply talking the talk, Mark clearly walks the walk. He spoke passionately about his own activism, shared stories from the front line of environmental campaigning, and showed us how ordinary people can make a real difference through everyday actions, community spirit and collective voices.
Oasis always strives to create engaging, uplifting and empowering meetings and Saturday was no exception. We hope that Mark inspired us all to do our little bit for the planet. Small actions can help create big change; when a butterfly flaps its wings ………….. who knows what could happen!

Serena once again treated us to one of her truly sumptuous stupendous spring salads. A colourful feast bursting with freshness, flavour and flair. Beautifully presented and packed with crisp seasonal leaves, vibrant vegetables and delicious little surprises in every bite, it was as stunning to look at as it was to eat. Her vegan coleslaw was a triumph!

As always, Serena’s attention to detail and talent for bringing people together through food shone through brilliantly. Her salads have become something of an Oasis tradition, and this one was no exception fresh, uplifting and absolutely delicious. Thank you Serena.

Oasis is eternal, so it’s always a delight when members we haven’t seen for a while return. We were thrilled to welcome Amy and Loraine back into the fold. As ever, Amy threw herself into helping with the meeting set-up and did sterling work at the sink. Oasis relies on the contributions of all our members to make our meetings a success. Thank you, Amy, and thank you to everyone who worked so hard at our Greenpeace shindig.

See you next month on Saturday 20th June 2026, when we go music festival crazing, with our very first Oasisbury! Never been to a music festival, now’s your chance! Old hand, add Oasisbury to your list! Any time is party time, party time is any time! Don’t miss it.
Much Love
Lilly
