September Oasis – Oasis in all it’s Pomp

On Saturday 19th October 2026 our O’Promenaders celebrated The Last Night of the O’Proms; Oasis style! 🎶
In the spirit of our Oasis traditions, we created our unique blend; starting with a little bit of Dolly, mixing in a touch of Queen, then added a pinch of pomp, a snippet of circumstance and finally stirred in a generous helping Northern Soul. The spirit of Oasis remains live and kicking in our green and Oasis land, 🏳️‍⚧️

🏳️‍⚧️ We were delighted to welcome Lara to their first Transgender flag waving (see not all flags are bad) extravaganza 🏳️‍⚧️ As ever, our Oasis fairies made short work of the mountain of washing up. Due to an excess of pomping I didn’t get all their fairy names, but some of our fairies were called Carole, Stacey and Hilary. Thank you to all our fairies for their contribution to a fab evening🧽🧼🫧.

Our evening stated with a consultation with Claire of NCC, and we thank everyone for their contribution to a very frank conversation. For those who have any concerns about the impact of the EHRC guidelines, please refer to the article EHRC Segregation Staying Safe and Responding Well on this website.

🏳️‍⚧️ Oasisalem (with apologies to William Blake) 🏳️‍⚧️
And did our feet in autumn boots
Walk into our Oasis scene
And with our beautiful diversity
On Barbara’s pleasant pastures seen?

And did the washing up decline
Shine upon non existent hills?
And was community created here
Among our make-up skills?

Bring me my heels of burning gold,
Bring me my lipstick of desire;
Bring me my clothes, never undersold
Bring me my soulful choir.

We will not cease from freedom fight,
Nor shall my flag sleep in my hand,
Till we have built equality
In this Oasis pink and blue land.

And let our laughter fill the room,
And friendship light our way;
Let every person find themselves
And know they’re welcome here always.

For Oasis shall be our refuge,
A place where all can simply be;
Where heels, boots and gorgeous clothes
Are worn with pride and dignity.

So raise your glasses, wave your flags,
And let the Oasis spirit fly;
For Barbara’s dream lives on in us
Our Oasis shall never die!

We hope to see you all at our Wellbeing evening on Saturday 17th October 2026; when we have some NHS health checks with Spencer. Is this the real life, is this just fantasy? No just another wonderful gathering of Oasis folk.
Love
Lilly xxx
