The theme for the May meeting was ‘A May Ball’ and the weather did not disappoint with the sun streaming through the windows illuminating the beautiful dresses. Twenty one guests enjoyed a meal prepared by Serena – a healthy salad followed by strawberries and cream. There wasn’t much left so it must have been ok!

Six ladies made a special effort dress for the occasion and, for the first time since before lockdown, we held a fashion parade. Each one sashayed down the hall, smiling at the paparazzi (or should that be paparazzo as there was only Jules!). They looked stunning and Serena had the unenviable task of picking a winner. Runner-up, in a beautiful, figure-hugging, pewter full length dress was Theresa but she was just pipped by Clare who also looked stunning a long, figure-hugging, dark blue dress. Well done everyone and thank you for making the effort.
We had a raffle which raised £32 – a useful boost to the new display boards for the Norwich and King’s Lynn Pride events. Lilly and Theresa, assisted by Dee, Amy, Donna and Rachel are masterminding the events and updating the display boards. The dates for your diaries are Norwich: 30th July, and King’s Lynn: 20th August.

The date for the next Oasis meeting is Saturday, 18th June. The theme will be a Street Party to celebrate, rather belatedly, the Platinum Jubilee. Dress code is anything red, white or blue. Who will dare to go for a Geri Haliwell union jack minidress? Keep an eye on the website for further details.
Love to you all,
Serena
